Hi all,
With much thought and consideration, we’ve finally decided on the theme for the next charity contest:
Namaste Inc. will collect and donate lap blankets from all contest participants and donate them to the sick children at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. This charity contest is your chance to make a difference and touch the lives of a child with cancer, autoimmune disease, traumatic injury, or other illnesses that make being a kid and having fun a lot more difficult. Children undergoing medical treatments will appreciate the extra comfort of a hand knit lap blanket to keep them warm.
Help us to help the children by knitting, sewing, or crocheting a lap blanket that is a minimum of 2 feet by 2 feet and is made of material that is machine washable. We’ve been informed by the donations center at Children’s Hospital that it’s important to make sure the blankets don’t have pet hair on them as this can be harmful for some of their patients.
Each lap blanket donated will earn you 1 raffle ticket to enter you into our contest for 1 of 3 prizes.
3rd prize: free Buddy case of your choice
2nd prize: free Namaste handbag of your choice
1st prize: free Namaste handbag and free Buddy case of your choice.
The contest begins now, and we will be accepting lap blanket donations through the end of January. There is no limit to the amount of lap blankets you can donate, and each qualifying donation will earn you 1 raffle ticket to be placed in the official drawing.
Winners will be announced on February 1st and prizes will be mailed immediately. Please send all donations with your contact information included to:

Namaste..
The staff at the shelter were expecting our arrival and they were helpful and willing to introduce us to some of their dogs that they thought might enjoy or especially appreciate a sweater. We all hope that the promise of a gifted handmade dog sweater to go along with the dog who needs a home might just sweeten the deal for a potential pet owner…. After all, who can resist a well-dressed mutt!
So many faces just like these ones staring from the inside of their cages- and they all just want to come home and be loved.
And here are some cuties wearing their brand new sweaters!

Above is “‘Pinky”. She’s super sweet and we all fell in love with her. The shelter employees believe she was a victim of being restrained with wire as evidenced by the circumferential scars around her ankles. Pinky is about 2-3 years old and would make a great addition to a home with space to play. We hated to see Pinky go back in her cage, but she was hard to miss in her bright new sweater- hopefully her new owner will find her soon.

And then back in her cage she went- hopefully not for long.
