Clint setting up the shot.
Our very talented photographer, my husband Clint, had a dual role during this shoot: he also played the role of male model. It was funny because it was just the two of us doing the photo shoot. Clint would set up the camera, take practice shots with me in the pose, and replace me as the model while I pressed the button.
During our photo shoot we also got to meet a super sweet dog that lives in the neighborhood we occupied during the Hip Holster shoot. While I was posing for a shot, he slowly came over, licked my hand, and lay down at my feet until we left. As most of our customers know, everyone at Namaste LOVES animals so this was definitely a treat for me. The dogs that live on the streets in Turkey are mostly a mix of a Turkish breed called a Kangal. They are big and goofy, always claim a usual sleeping or eating place where their “neighbors” spoil them with doghouses, beds, fresh food, water & of course lots of attention. The stray animals are well cared for Turkey. Spending time in Istanbul I got to know each neighborhood’s Kangal whether it be by their sleeping spot in the sun, their wagging tail, or their methods of waiting patiently in front of the apartment buildings that would provide the best meals.

My new Turkish friend stealing the spotlight.
All in all, it was fun, but it’s not over. Clint is home from Turkey now and it’s time for us to get in another photo shoot so we can have complete photography of the brand new collection. Stay tuned –we can’t wait for all of you to see the new collection!
